What is Comfort Mode?
Virtual Reality can be hard on some people. In an effort to give everyone the best possible experience, we've created Comfort Mode.
Comfort Mode will change a few settings and the way the game is rendered to make users who are sensitive to VR have the best chance of enjoying their time with VZfit.
What does Comfort Mode do exactly?
- 3rd Person Perspective: Comfort mode will change the perspective of the player to 3rd person, pulling your view of the character behind the character. This lessens the impact of the visuals for users who may be sensitive to motion in VR.
- Monoscopic VR Type: VR usually uses a stereoscopic view, sending two separate images to each eye to give a sense of depth to the experience. Comfort mode will send the same image to both eyes reducing the depth of field sensation and making the experience somewhat less immersive, but easier for some users.
- Slideshow Presentation: We work hard to make traveling in Google Street View as immersive as possible. We're pretty proud of it, to be frank. However, we realize that the motion effects we render can be taxing on our more sensitive users. Comfort mode will do away with the effect of traveling down the road and stop the dots from moving as well. While less immersive, it is much easier on those who have difficulty in Virtual Reality at times.
How is Comfort Mode enabled?

Then go to Options:
Finally, head over to VR and enable Comfort from the Street View options:
That's all there is to it! Enjoy the ride.
