Creating a Ride with Annotations

To create a ride with annotations, follow the steps on our website here:

Make sure to export the entire layer and rename both the Route and Notes accordingly.

Creating a Ride without Annotations

1. Go to Google My Maps
2. Create a new map by clicking the button in the top left corner of the page.
3. Search for a location you'd like to start riding and select 'Add driving or line route' from the icons under the search bar.
4. Click on a starting point and start mapping out your route. The line will automatically find its way through streets, so add dots along the route to indicate your desired turns where appropriate. Once you start mapping, a new layer will appear on the left. Double click when you've reached the end of your route.
5. When finished, click the 3-dots to the right of 'Untitled map' on top of the layer box and click 'Export KML/KMZ'.
6. Select Entire Map from the dropdown and check the 'Export as KML...' box.
7. Press Download.
8. Once you have your file downloaded, head over to www.vzfit.com/create-ride and press Choose File to upload your ride.
9. Enter a Ride Title in the field on 'Step 5' and click Upload Ride.

That's it! Your ride has been created.

How to View and Ride Your Custom Rides

You can view your created rides on the web by going to www.vzfit.com/rides and checking the 'You created' box on the left side.

In the app, find them by navigating to 'Start a Ride' > 'Find a Ride' and toggling on 'I Created' in the Search Filters on the left side of the ride selection screen.
